waywardmixes's 13th challenge: OTPs (again). I finally got to play T&T a couple of months ago and it gave me all of the feels, how can a game be at the same time hilarious and heartbreaking, I don't get it. Best game. Don't you just love series where you don't know if something is fanart or official art because everything is ridic lovey-dovey. I just love those two fuckers ok. Some Edgey-centric spoilers from the first three games (nothing related to the cases).

*"C'mon, Nick! Tell me! What's the deal with you and Edgeworth?"* Ace Attorney, known in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban, is a series of visual novels about lawyers solving crimes. The protagonist of the first three games is Phoenix Wright (Nick to his friends), a rookie defense attorney whose defining traits are his spiky hair, his ridiculous courtroom antics and his determination to defend innocent people. Miles Edgeworth is Nick's childhood friend and rival in the first game: he's a genius prosecutor who's rumored to use any method to get a guilty verdict. However, Edgeworth is more interested in the truth than in his perfect track record, and he helps Phoenix when he realizes that the man he's prosecuting is innocent. Later, Phoenix defends Edgeworth from an accuse of murder, clearing a dark shadow from his past. Edgeworth questions his own motives for becoming a prosecutor and decides to leave the country to embark on a journey of self-discovery. The manner of his departure (sudden and leaving behind only a cryptic note) upsets Phoenix, to the point that for a while he acts as if Edgeworth is dead. They make up later, when Edgeworth returns to help Phoenix with some of his most difficult cases, and Edgeworth even steps in as a defense attorney while Phoenix is bedridden. TL;DR: Nick acts like a goofball but inside he's a sarcastic little shit. Edgey acts all smooth and snobbish to hide the fact that deep down he's awkward and lonely. They take turns running after each other and cleaning up each other's messes and they're bestest friends.
